Musculoskeletal ailments, also known as musculoskeletal disorders or conditions, refer to a wide range of conditions that affect the muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, and other connective tissues in the body. These ailments can result from various causes, including injuries, overuse, age-related degeneration, autoimmune disorders, infections, and systemic diseases.

Arthritis

Arthritis is the swelling and tenderness of one or more joints. The main symptoms of arthritis are joint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Knee joint pain

Bone and knee pain shouldn’t be taken lightly. What may start as a minor joint discomfort can become a chronic condition and affect your mobility. Several factors causing knee pain include sports or accidental injuries, osteoarthritis/arthritis, internal infection, effusion, tissue degeneration, weak bones, dislocated kneecap, bone chips, tendonitis, etc. The intensity of the pain depends on the underlying issue, environment, and physical activities in day-to-day life.Whatever the underlying cause, Ayurvedic herbs and remedies can give you significant pain relief with no major side effects.

Neck Shoulder

In Ayurvedic parlance greeva graha (stiffness of neck) manya stamba (stiffness and pain of neck) and viswachi (radiating or referred pain of hands and arms) are the stage wise correlations to CS and all of these are caused due to imbalance in vata and kapha doshas.External and internal body oleation measures (SNEHANA), Fomentation procedures (SWEDANA), Oil retention techniques (GREEVA BASTI), Medicated enemas (BASTI) and errhines (NASYA) are attuned to your specific needs with a wide variety of herbal and mineral combinations. In early stages the disease can be retarded with custom made treatments.

Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder, also called adhesive capsulitis, involves stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. Signs and symptoms typically begin slowly, then get worse. Over time, symptoms get better, usually within 1 to 3 years.

Sciatica

Sciatica is caused due to irritation to the sciatic nerve. It is a neuropathic pain, and can occur due to injury, compression or dysfunction of this nerve. Sciatica is characterized by a pain running from the lumbar (lower back) region to the back of the legs. Sciatica pains – felt in either one or both of the legs – are usually experienced after the age of thirty and can go on aggravating as the person ages. This pain is a chronic pain and is difficult to cure with conventional medicines. While the pain can subside when painkillers are taken, Ayurveda offers the holistic management of chronic diseases by treating the underlying cause of the disease. The Ayurvedic treatment of Sciatica consists of taking cleansing herbs that eliminate the toxic build up, followed by digestive herbs that restore proper digestion. Along with this, toning and demulcent herbs (herbs rich in mucilage that can soothe and protect irritated or inflamed internal tissue) are also prescribed to nourish the nervous system and alleviate imbalanced body energies.
